The World Cyber Games, brought to you by major sponsor Samsung, came to their 2010 climax at the Los Angeles Convention Centre between 30 September and 3 October. 450 Gamers from all over the world battled it out for hundreds of thousands of dollars in prizes, and the glory of being recognised as a World Champion in computer, video or phone gaming.
The Grand Final attracted an audience of over 32,000 and was broadcast in eight countries - including China, Germany and Russia - with tens of millions more viewers watching the games live via the internet.
Sydney school boy, Charlie Elliott, came home with the gold medal in the Asphalt 5 section of the competition - guaranteeing Australia an equal 3rd place overall in the Championships.
